Stained Glass Artist
I have always loved art in all its various mediums. I attended William Paterson College and graduated with a BA in Art. During that time I experimented with and created works in watercolors, pastels, photography and acrylics.
As a mother and now a young grandmother my art held a secondary place of importance as family was and is first. I am an historian, a reenactor and a recently retired Special Ed Paraprofessional. My recent retirement has reignited my artistic passion and enabled me to devote the time necessary to the field that I love so well.
One of my early goals was to work with stained glass. I have been inspired by the works of Tiffany and by someone less famous (my Uncle Fred) but equally influential, as I developed, broadened and honed my skills in the lost art of stained glass. In my studio I cut and grind glass, mosaics, and use copper foil and solder in order to create my signature art. I then place my creations on repurposed mirrors which become my canvass. The mirrors reflect the light behind the translucent glass bringing forth vibrant colors and striking images to the viewer.
I am currently creating ocean themed pieces, but my work includes a variety of subjects, from floral pieces to angels, to whatever my heart encourages me to create. I recently completed a large consignment mosaic piece for a first responder depicting the World Trade Center held in the arms of an angel. Currently I am working on some medium to smaller pieces in order to provide a broad array of choices for potential customers and fellow art lovers.
