Mixed Media Artists Hovik and Gagik Dilakian are New York City-based artists working across media and genres. The Main Avenue Galleria is showcasing their Art Boxes – a series of three-dimensional artworks which combine elements of biography, art history, and imagination. The Art Boxes offer a unique, often humorous look at famous artists and their most iconic works. They depict elements of the artists’ studios and daily lives, to which the Dilakian Brothers have added their own creative style and interpretation. The goal of the series is to bring viewers closer to the lives and creative world of these renowned artists.
The Dilakian Brothers were born and raised in Yerevan, Armenia where they worked in animation. Their animated short, Found Dream, has become a celebrated classic in Armenia
and is being recognized in 2026 on its 50th anniversary. They have also collaborated on paintings, sculpture, wearable art, illustrations and portraits.
