Acrylic Painter

My name is Matt Hirsheimer and I have lived most of my life on the East Coast.  My influences lean from New Orleans’ Michalopoulos to Edward Hopper.  From the whimsical to the serious.  I love to paint images that explore light and use shadow to define shape.

My life has been spent creating art.  Through extensive work with corporate America, my art can be found worldwide and in many corporate business collections.  Retired from Pepsico, my main focus is to continue honing my artistic skills and pursuing opportunities of showing my work to the public.

Now I work primarily in acrylic, but my foundations were grooved in watercolor.  Through the use of paint and brush, my desire is to create images that grab the viewer’s eye and pull them into the scene to perhaps laugh at the absurd or enjoy the mood that’s been created.

Through light and shadow, color and contrast, my goal is to create an image that holds the viewer for a moment to allow them to finish the story that was started by the painting.
