Wearable Art
Wearable Art. I love making jewelry that is big, bold and very, very different from the norm. Polymer clay is my medium of choice. The clay is so light you can have a piece on that looks like it would be heavy, but yet it is as light as a feather. The colors that clay allows you to work with are endless. If you can imagine something, you can make it out of polymer clay. It has become my passion.
In my past life. My accomplishments are a degree in Fashion Design. As a side business I used to paint murals, but climbing ladders is out of the question now. My other passion became carving decorative decoys and wood burning pictures until I could not breath the dust or the smoke any more. So then I discovered jewelry making. I started out bead weaving and wire working. This was fine, but everyone was doing this. But then I went to the Philadelphia Polymer Clay Guild with a friend and my PASSION went wild again. Oh my, the thrill of mixing color, construction and figuring out how to put what I could IMAGINE into something! JEWELRY, VASES, WALL ART. So now, when I’m not working a 40 hour week as a banker, I am playing with clay, mixing colors, figuring out how to put my ideas into reality.!!! My work is in the Main Avenues Galleria in Ocean Grove, New Jersey.
