Beyond the Plantain:  Rican Amazing Cooking Class

1 Day Workshop

 Join Raquel Sud, owner and CEO of Rican Amazing Food, for this unique cooking class.  In this experiential catered event, you will learn about the rich flavors and culture of Puerto Rican cuisine.  We will focus on how to identify, select and prepare unique ingredients to create recipes that are sure to impress, easily and affordably.  Learn age-old techniques to prepare herb mixtures, marinades, tubers and tropical vegetables, rice, beans, meats and fish.

At each workshop students will enjoy a tasting of a variety of dishes prepared using a featured ingredient and learnthe steps to prepare them..  This week’s featured ingredient will be the Yuca, which will be prepared in a variety of delicious ways including alcapurrias, yuca fries, and yuca al ajillo (in garlic sauce).

Class Session & Students
Class meets Saturday, May 19th from 11:30am – 1pm.  Open to students 18 years to adult.  Class size limited to 20 students.
