Create a Faberge-Style Egg

1 Day Workshop

Join artist, Jean Leonard, for a beginner class in decorating a first-quality, infertile goose eggshell.  The shell is cleaned, cut, painted and reinforced with water putty (similar to plaster of Paris), which increases the thickness of the shells.  This gives the eggshell increased durability.  Students will decorate these previously prepared eggshells using miniature items, genuine crystal rhinestones, glitter, and jewelry findings to make stunning designs.  Each design takes about 3 hours to complete.  No special skills are required for this class.
The Lighthouse egg kit includes one reinforced goose eggshell, painted with a white base coat, miniature Lenox lighthouse, rhinestones, trims, and findings for hanging as an ornament.  Participants will paint and decorate the shell in class.  A choice of colors is available.  Paint, glue, glitter and all other necessary supplies will be provided.
When handled with care, the finished egg, like fine china, will last for years.
