Fundamentals of Drawing 101

Join professional artist and instructor, Norma Tolliver,  for a 7 week journey into the world of three dimensional drawing skills.  In addition to practicing with pencil, students will be given the opportunity to apply these skills to watercolor painting and charcoal drawings.

Techniques that will be focused on include: foreshortening, placement, size, overlapping, shading, shadow, contour lines, horizon line, density, one and two point perspective, and negative space.

Understanding these fundamentals will give the student a solid foundation of confidence that will enable you to enjoy drawing as a personal form of creative expression.  These skills are also applicable to creating paintings with light, life and vitality in watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastels or any medium.
