Plein Air Painting
Individual Outdoor Classes – Saturdays, June 17th and June 24th, 2023
Join artist and instructor, Gina Cannone, for a three hour plein air painting experience. This 3 hour workshop at the beach will introduce students to painting alla prima and experience painting in the open air and natural light. Learn basic blocking, layering and brushwork and palette knife techniques while creating a beautiful ocean scene.
Plein air painting is a wonderful experience. There is nothing like being outdoors enjoying our world and capturing its beauty.
En plein air is a French expression meaning “in the open air” and refers to the act of painting outdoors with the aritst’s subject in full view. Plein air artists capture the spirit and essence of a landscape or subject by incorporating natural light, color, and movement into their works.
Cost is $55 per session and is open to students 13 years old to adult. Artists will bring their own art supplies and will meet at the boardwalk Gazebo at the intersection of Broadway and Ocean Avenue on the Ocean Grove/Bradley Beach border. A suggested materials list will be provided upon registration.
